All of the processors in the dv6500 model series support 64-bit operating systems but many of the dv6500 notebooks in the model series came with Windows Vista 32 bit.
Below is the link to the service manual.

Thank you so much. Yes mine came with the vista in it but was updated to win 10. I can't find the installation disc to fix the boot drive which I messed up the other night. I was having to download one to repair it.

You're very welcome.
If you can't repair the boot drive, since you had installed W10 on the PC before, you can make a W10 64-bit USB installation flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
Boot from the installation media and when you get past the 'Install Now' screen, select the version of W10 you want to install) Home or Pro). Select the version of W10 you had upgraded to.
Then you will be asked to enter a product key.
Select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and then activate after you are connected to the internet.
You can use the Vista drivers to install on any devices that may need drivers.

You will have to manually install the graphics driver though because when you run the Vista graphics driver exe file, you will get an 'Unsupported operating system' error.
