i'd like to upgrade my RAM and m.2 hdd. My notebook is HP Elitebook 840 G5 with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB M.2. What's the maximun RAM I can install and what type?

Can I install more than 1TB M.2? What kind of M.2 can I buy? (PCIexpress, speed, etc)

Thanks in advance.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

HP EliteBook 840 G5 Notebook PCHP EliteBook 846 G5 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide

Chapter 5 has the memory upgrade information.

Your notebook has two memory slots and can support up to 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-2400 CL17 memory.

HP offered M.2 NVMe SSD's up to 1 TB in the model series, but that is just what they offered, not the maximum capacity supported.

The sky's the limit as far as how large a capacity M.2 NVMe you can install as long as it is single-sided so the drive fits in the slot.

You should be able to go up to a 4 TB drive according to the Crucial SSD report for your notebook.
