Hp Elitebook 850 G7 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My company has provided a brand new HP 850 G7 series laptop for my development purpose. While working on this laptop, I started noticing that suddenly F5 or Space or F10, F12 keys are typing random numbers. Initially, I thought I must have pressed keys but it has become so random that it breaks my development debugging.

The random keys are hyphen (-), an asterisk (*) a single quote (').

I requested my company to change my laptop and they send me another brand new laptop with the same series. Unfortunately, I got the same issue with the new laptop also.

The issue is intermittent and does not occur every time. Things were done so far.

1) It is not a software issue it happens in Microsoft Teams, Visual Studio, Notepad++ (these are the most software I use for typing.)
2) It is not a keyboard issue as HP technicians change the keyboard and the same thing occurs when I used an external keyboard.
3) Laptop is bought in UK, default language is UK, Default keyboard is UK- English and no hotkeys for Language change is enabled.

The problem is it is difficult to reproduce as it does not occur all the time, HP technician or IT support team has no clue what to do.

Still, I was able to record a video while working, but it does not point to anything it is just that while working two single quotes just automatically added on the text line.

HP technician has updated system, run hp diagnostic tool, keyboard diagnostic tool and nothing is found but issue is still there.

Hello

IF keyboard was already replace , amd there no external keyboard connnected and you still have random typing I guess it could be the motherboard.

Could you , may duing night, boot a WinPE OS , open a cmd prompt Windows and see if also in that case (out of Windows 10) , you get random typing ?

bye
