laptop 14 cf2505sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Am trying to reimage a new hp 14 cf2504sa which comes with windows 10 home 64 bit.

When i pxe boot i lose the mouse track pad completely. Also the same issue if i boot from usb and try to install a new version of windows this way. If i follow through and install a fresh version of windows the elan mousepad is not picked up at all. Nothing is in device manager, its just gone. This is the 2nd laptop that has this issue. I have 7 of them to rebuild.

With the factory installed OS the tracpad works fine. As soon as i try to rebuild its not even recognised at the pre build stage.

Any advice as to why the trackpad hardware is disappearing or any solution ?

I reviewed your post and I understand that the touchpad is not working when you boot from the USB.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Are you trying to install a retail copy of Windows? If yes, then may the image you are using doesn’t have the proper drivers for the touchpad to work.

In case if you are installing an HP image from the USB driver then follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.
