Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had recently bought a new hp battery after the old one stopped working and the laptop was working fine till yesterday.(To be more precise this issue started after i did a hard reset) Now, I'm getting this issue where laptop battery has charge but doesn't turn on when powering on Battery but the power led blinks 3 times. When powering on AC the laptop starts and then if i remove the AC adapter then the laptop continues to operate and doesn't turn off which is good. But the laptop won't turn on when trying to power on Battery. So i tried the hardreset again and still didn't work. I tried discharging battery and then charging it and tried powering it on but it doesn't turn on. The power led is amber when AC adapter is connected and turns white after a while. I can't figure out the issue but know that battery need not be replaced as it is holding charge and is working alright. Also i couldn't check if battery was charging in Windows as my Harddisk is corrupted (shows 3FO error) and I'm trying to get an ssd to replace it.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

  • Step 1: Perform a hard reset  (do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating)
  • Step 2: Restore BIOS default settings
  • Step 3: Test the hard drive using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
  • Step 4: Reseat the hard drive
  • Step 5: Perform an HP System Recovery
  • Click here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01443463 to complete the troubleshooting steps.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
