I'm thinking of buying an HP Pavilion 15-eg1033nm laptop (634Q5EA). According to the specifications, it has 8 GB of RAM. Given that there is only one slot, is it possible to replace the existing 8 GB memory with, for example, 16 GB or the memory is soldered so it cannot be changed.

It actually has 2 slots of RAM. It has

8 GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM (1 x 8 GB)

now. You can simply add  same existing to slot 2 to have 16GB. If you wish, you can upgrade to 32GB of RAM using

Thanks a lot for the reply. In that case this laptop is definitely my favorite.
