Hello MAFIHEW5.

This is not really a question for HP forums but for modding forums since the graphics card is not one officially supported by your laptop or by HP. The cpu should work right away, but you may have more heat issues. The GTX on the other hand: You need modded drivers, perhaps even flashing the vbios. It's certainly NOT going to work just by plugging it in.  Generally speaking the 8560w wasn't very successful in upgrading with gtx cards. The 8770w could upgrade up to gtx1070 but with many mods 8770w compatible video cards . However, there were some that claimed to have taken the 8560w up  to a gtx965 8560w gtx965m . Others tried with the gtx980m and failed HP Elitebook 8760w CPU and GPU upgrade

If you want to try this there are definitely no guarantees and you will have to do a lot of research and work on your own.....

Hi again MAFIHEW5.

Your laptop (8560w manual) was sold with a 2000M by HP, so it's gonna work right away (officially supported). However, it's not much of an upgrade. I remember that this particular model could be upgraded up to M2000M HP Successful MXM GPU Upgrades but it will require some modding (can't help you there) and also (since M2000M was successful), they had managed to take it up to gtx950m.

NVIDIA Quadro M2000M vs NVIDIA Quadro 2000M

Of course if you go with the plain 2000M it will be plug'n'play and 100% safe.....

Good luck either way!

Update/correction

According to manual p.24 (posted link above) if you go to NVIDIA 2000M you will have to buy a different heatsink. Apparently the heatsink you have on now is for the AMD gpu and the NVIDIA 1000M both (weird), but the NVIDIA 2000M needs another heatsink with HP part number: 652677-001. So to change gpu you will also need to get that as well....
