@Help289, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding 2 blinks (repeating)!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

thanks for describing the issue. On HP laptops like the Envy, the power light and Caps Lock blinking pattern is actually a diagnostic code.

👉 2 blinks (repeating) generally points to a BIOS corruption or system board issue.

Here’s what you can try before thinking about repairs:

🔧 Steps to troubleshoot:

Hard reset

Disconnect the power adapter.

Remove the battery (if it’s removable).

Hold the power button down for 15 seconds.

Reconnect the adapter (leave battery out if removable) and try powering on.

BIOS recovery

Plug the laptop into power.

Hold down Windows key + B (sometimes Windows + V) and, while holding, press the power button for 2–3 seconds.

Release the power button but keep holding the keys for about 10–15 seconds.

If the recovery works, you should hear beeps or see the BIOS recovery screen.

Check RAM (if accessible)

Power off and unplug the laptop.

If your model allows, open the back panel, reseat the RAM stick(s) — take them out, wipe gently, and reinsert firmly.

Try one stick at a time if you have two.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
