Hi @JH20202010, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Since your laptop powers on but won’t boot, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

Turn off the laptop completely.

Disconnect any external peripherals (USB drives, external monitors, etc.).

Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.

Reconnect the battery and power adapter.

Try turning it on.

Step 2: Check for Display Issues

If the screen is black but the laptop is running, try pressing Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B to reset the display driver.

Connect an external monitor via HDMI or DisplayPort to check if the issue is with the built-in display.

Step 3: Boot into Windows Recovery Mode

Power on the laptop and force shutdown by holding the power button for 10 seconds. Repeat this three times until you see the Windows Recovery menu.

Select Advanced optionsStartup Repair.

If that fails, go back to Advanced options and try System Restore (if a restore point is available).

Step 4: Check BIOS/UEFI Settings

Turn off the laptop.

Press Esc, F2, or F10 (depending on your HP model) while turning it on to enter BIOS.

Check if the boot order is correct (ensure Windows Boot Manager is listed first).

Exit and restart.

Step 5: Run Hardware Diagnostics

Turn off the laptop.

Press the F2 key repeatedly while turning it on to enter HP Hardware Diagnostics.

Run System Tests and Memory/Storage Tests to check for hardware failures.

Step 6: Try Safe Mode

If you can access Windows Recovery (Step 3), go to Advanced OptionsStartup SettingsRestart.

Press 4 or F4 to boot into Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode, update drivers or uninstall recent updates.

Step 7: Repair Windows

If none of the above steps work, you may need to repair or reinstall Windows:

Create a bootable USB with Windows 11 using the Media Creation Tool.

Boot from the USB and select Repair your computerStartup Repair.
