OMEN Laptop - 15-en0023dx

I was using my hp omen 15 for studies, vscode and chrome were the only programs running and nothing serious happening yesterday when it unexpectedly shut down(like a forced shut down) and wont turn on, each time i click the power button, it shows the white light for like a second and goes back off, no sound of fan starting whatsoever, the power supply is good, i plugged it, it shows the charging light and if i click the power button, it does the same thing, shows the white light like it wants to come on and then goes off in like a second, i have removed the battery and tried to start it, nothing works, i still held the power button to drain the current in and tried starting, nothing happened still, please help

Hi @Markofi,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Omen 15 laptop is not turning on, there could be several potential reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.

Check the Power Source:

  • Make sure your laptop is properly connected to a working power source.
  • If you're using a power adapter, ensure that it's plugged into both the laptop and a functional electrical outlet.

Check the Battery:

  • If your laptop has a removable battery, ensure that it's properly seated in its slot.
  • Try removing the battery and then reconnecting it.

Reset the Power:

  • Sometimes, laptops can get stuck in a "no power" state. To reset this, disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery if possible.
  • Then, hold down the power button for about 15-20 seconds. This will drain any residual power from the laptop.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, and try turning on the laptop.

External Devices:

  • Disconnect any external devices (USB drives, external monitors, etc.) that might be connected to the laptop. Sometimes, a faulty external device can prevent the laptop from booting.

Display Issues:

  • It's possible that the laptop is turning on, but the display isn't functioning properly. Shine a flashlight on the screen and look for any faint images. If you see something, it could be a backlight issue.

Hardware Issues:

  • If there's a hardware problem (such as a malfunctioning power button or a faulty motherboard), you might need to contact HP support or visit a service center for professional assistance.

Memory or Storage Issues:

  • Faulty RAM modules or storage drives can prevent a laptop from booting. Try reseating the RAM modules or using a single RAM stick if you have multiple.
  • If you're comfortable, you can also try accessing the laptop's internals to reseat the storage drive.

BIOS/UEFI Issues:

  • Sometimes, a corrupted BIOS/UEFI can cause booting problems. If you're familiar with this, you might try resetting the BIOS settings to default.
  • Be cautious when dealing with BIOS settings, as incorrect changes can potentially cause more issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
