OMEN by HP Laptop PC - 17-w053dx (ENERGY STAR)

Hi! I've had my laptop for a while now, and I've been having issues with my hinges being super tight or something. It's gotten progressively worse over the past few months where it's almost pulling off the screen edging

On top of that, the laptop won't work unless plugged in. If I get a replacement battery will that just solve the issue, or is it something else within the laptop?

Really need to figure out a fix for the hinges though. I've had to start bringing my laptop with my to friends houses but I'm always scared it's going to break, even when openinging it super carefully, bracing my thumbs on the edges of the the screen where the hinges are and having to hold the rest of the laptop down with my knee or something

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
