HP Pavilion x360 Laptop - 15t touch Product #:8GE39AV_1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I just purchased an HP Pavilion x360 Laptop - 15t touch  Product #:8GE39AV_1 laptop which comes with a  512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD. My old laptop has a 1TB Samsung pro-2.5-inch SSD which I would like to add to the new one and use it as a primary or secondary drive. Does my new laptop come with a bay for 2.5-inch SSD? if yes, please provide me the steps and the parts needed. I have done some ssd upgrades before but not very complex steps, Thanks in advance for  your time and help

@itsfighter , welcome to the forum.

Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the laptop:  http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06267384

On Pages 36 thru 38 is a list of compatible hard drives (HDD) and instructions on removing and installing them.  You can change the HDD to a SSD without any problems.  The compatible HDD's are (2.5").  I don't believe that you will need an adapter.  Just make certain that there are the appropriate connectors.

 Thanks for your response. Mine doesn't come with regular HDD. Just only one 512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD. I hope the 2.5 SSD slot will be empty and hope all adapters are there to plug in the additional drive.  Thanks

You are welcome, @itsfighter!  I realize that your laptop won't have a HDD, but according to the guide there is a bay for one.

Good luck!

Hi, were you able to successfully add the second ssd? I just bought my pc and expecting it to arrive tomorrow. I also have bought another 512GB pci-e M.2 SSD

Hope it works. Look forward to your response

@msumhaq,  welcome to the forum.

This is not the usual Forum where members come and return.  The average member comes here, gets their problem solved and leaves.  So, you may not get a reply.

I will tell you that the original poster was adding a 2.5" SSD, not another M.2.
