My HP Victus that I bought recently like a few months ago had a little loose port but nothing worrisome as it still fit perfectly. But within the last few months, it got very loose, and especially in the last few days it just stopped working. When I charged it just got stuck and the battery was not increasing but it showed it was charging, and as soon as I removed it the PC shut down. After restarting and plugging in the charger the battery was charging as normal. But now even that doesn't work. The battery is shown charging but whatever I do it is not increasing anymore. I have a warranty so I talked to customer support through Amazon and they said they could fix it but I am not in that country anymore and plan to move somewhere else and for that I am not getting any help. What should I do?

Hi @casterix,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there may be a hardware issue with the charging port or the battery itself. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.
- Check the Charging Port: Make sure no debris or dust in the charging port could be preventing a proper connection. Use a can of compressed air to clean it out gently.
- Inspect the Charger: Check the charger for any damage or frayed cables. Try using a different charger or cable to see if that resolves the issue.
- Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can fix minor software glitches that may be affecting the charging process.
- Update Drivers and BIOS: Ensure that your laptop's drivers and BIOS are up to date. Sometimes outdated software can cause charging problems.
- Check Power Settings: Make sure your power settings are configured correctly in your laptop's control panel. Sometimes settings related to power management can affect charging behavior.
- Perform a Hard Reset: Shut down your laptop, disconnect the charger, and remove the battery if possible (if it's not built-in). Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, then reinsert the battery and try charging again.
- Test with Another Battery: If possible, try using another compatible battery to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem lies with the battery itself.
Given that you've mentioned a loose port, the port may have become damaged over time, leading to the charging issues you're experiencing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
