Probook 6570b

Hi, i just bought hp probook 6570b, with the idea of making a good laptop that looks like the most lowest end thing you can buy. I know it isnt that bad, and i really like the design taken from elitebooks. It has 4gigs of ram and intel i3 already, and i want a biiig upgrade. I already bought the maximum supported ram (16gigs) and i want to buy a new processor for it. I am thinking about intel i7 3540m, which is the max cpu supportted by hp. But under the supported cpu list (https://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-HP/ProBook_6570b.html)  there is a comment saying "Currently using Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3632QM CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.20 GHz". And from what i know, 3632qm is a quad core processor. So can i upgrade to a quad core processor? And if yes, what i need to done after the replacement? Next thing is the gpu. The max. Supported gpu is radeon hd 7570m. But what kind of that gpu i need to use? (sorry if i sound like an idiot, but i dont know **bleep** about notebook gpus.) and also, what kind of gpu socket does the laptop have? Is it gddr or something diffrerent? Thanks for all answers.

Hi:

According to the service manual, the 6570b does not support any of the Intel quad core processors.

c03565466.pdf (hp.com)

That information is listed under the 8570p.

Now, it is possible that the quad core processors were simply not offered in the 6570b because it is a Probook, and not an Elitebook.

This benchmarking website also has reports of folks installing quad core processors in the 6570b so it may be possible.

UserBenchmark: HP ProBook 6570b Compatible Components

So, if you want to experiment with a quad core, you may as well try the Intel® Quad Core® i7-3740QM listed in the manual.

The graphics adapter is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.  If your notebook already has the AMD/Intel switchable graphics, then your notebook is at the top of the mark as far as graphics are concerned.
