Yesterday my HP Victus 15-FA1072, Intel Core i5-12500H RTX 4060 8 GB was working fine, today, i turn on my notebook, it started making a buzz for half a second, then, my keyboard lights started flashing, so i forced a shutdown by holding down de power button for 3 seconds, then it would not turn on anymore, so i unplugged the baterry and connected the charger, still, no power.

When i plugged the battery again, the pin conector sparked, so i unplugged it.

Can i get some help please?

Hi @Gvaldez

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for explaining everything so clearly—I'm really sorry you're facing this. A sudden buzz, flashing keyboard lights, and now no power at all, followed by a spark at the battery connector, strongly suggests a board-level fault or power delivery failure. I know how alarming that is, especially when the device was working fine just yesterday.

Let’s walk through a few safe steps to confirm whether recovery is possible or if service is required:

Step-by-Step Recovery for HP Victus Not Powering On

1. Perform a Hard Reset (Without Battery)

  • Disconnect the battery and charger.
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Release, then connect only the charger (leave battery disconnected).
  • Wait 1 minute, then press the power button once.

If the system powers on briefly or shows any light activity, the issue may be with the battery or embedded controller.

2. Inspect Charging LED Behavior

  • Plug in the charger and observe the charging LED near the port:
    • Solid white or amber: Charging circuit is active.
    • Blinking or no light: May indicate a fault in the power rail or short circuit.

If there’s no light at all, the system may be in protection mode due to a power fault.

3. Avoid Reconnecting the Battery for Now

Since you saw a spark at the pin connector, it’s safest to leave the battery disconnected until the system is professionally inspected. A spark can indicate:

  • A shorted battery circuit.
  • A damaged connector or board trace.
  • Electrostatic discharge triggering a protection lockout.

4. Attempt BIOS Recovery (If Any Signs of Life)

If the system shows any flicker or keyboard light:

  • Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds.
  • Release the power button but continue holding Windows + B for up to 40 seconds.
  • If successful, the BIOS recovery screen will appear.

5. Use HP’s No Power Troubleshooting Guide

You can follow detailed steps here:
https://support.hp.com/in-en/help/computer/power-boot-issues

This guide includes visual checks, component tests, and recovery options tailored to your model.

If the laptop remains completely unresponsive and the spark at the battery connector was visible, it’s safest to have it inspected by a technician. You’ve done everything right by acting quickly and documenting the symptoms clearly.

Let me know if you saw any LED activity or if the system responded even briefly—I’ll guide you further.
