I am trying to know the differences between two models of hp zbook Fury G8 17.3

The two models are:

4A6A0EA # ABZ (€ 3692) vs

4A6A2EA # ABZ (€ 2793)

I'm trying to understand why they have an initial price difference of € 900 in the official hp store, but the models look identical!

Apart from the capacity of the ssd pcie m2 storage, 1tb vs 500gb installed, but the only storage difference does not justify the higher cost of 900 € !?

The specs are the same on the hp website, apparently ...

They both appear to have identical hardware, and even included software.

The final discounted price from HP for both models is similar, but without the discount there was a difference of € 900 between the two models.

Can the 3692€ model (4A6A0EA # ABZ) have any more "skills" than the 2793€ model (4A6A2EA # ABZ)?

Which of the two models would you buy?

What is the explanation for this enormous difference in the initial price between the two models?

Thanks everyone for the information

Welcome to the HP User Community.

I did recently order a Zbook 17 in. Fury  > CTO - it will take a while before I receive it.

This is a "Custom to Order" or "Configurable" purchase.

Were I you,

I'd contact the HP store (the number is on the page) - Ask your questions!

OR

I would try using the  HP Store "configure a workstation" to "design" a custom machine based on "favorite" components.

How does "Configure" work?

Each time you select a component, the price updates - it is easy to see the price for various options.

NOTE

You do NOT have to actually purchase the product to go through the configuration process.

Ooh, it sounds so nice to "get what I want"!

So...

If you do complete the entire process,

(and then)

If you do actually ORDER a CTO machine,

  • Know that custom orders can take a long time to actually receive the product.

REPEAT:

CTO orders can take a long time to build and receive - two to three months wait or Longer might be typical.

  • If there are issues along the way, the order might be delayed even beyond the original ship date.

  • CTO is wonderful when you can get what you want - waiting for months is not for the faint of heart.

HP Store - UK - Configure Your Workstation

Which one would I buy?

I'd buy the one I wanted the most and hang the cost or the reasons for differences or "why" it is this way or that.

Having what you want might last longer than the other concerns.

I ordered 4 SSDs of various sizes in my custom machine.

That's me - that is not anyone else.

Thanks for your suggestion!

I didn't know there was such a detailed hp configurator online!

I would also like to configure my workstation as you did, I took a look at the uk configurator you posted to me, beautiful and intuitive!

but i live in italy, i need the italian hp configurator because i don't want to pay costs for customs taxes from england to italy, and additional shipping costs. can you send me the link of the hp italia configurator?

Thank you very much!

You are welcome.

I should have left off the information about actually ordering a custom machine.

Apologies!

I do not know whether custom order is possible in your region.

In general, if a component costs more in one region, that same option will cost more elsewhere.

If nothing else. you can use the UK store to compare how different parts impact the cost.

Some items are far more expensive than others to upgrade, for example - nice to be able to check a list of "what if" options.

I've checked at your store - I did not find anything to suggest "configuration" is possible on the listed models.

If true, this is not strange - not every region supports "custom ordering".

Important!  My Italian is non-existent so I am likely to miss something.

Notes

In general, even if it can be done, you should not order anything from outside of your region.  Why?  Ordering from another region can affect the Warranty and / or it can make it harder - or impossible - to get service and parts if you need help later.

It does appear that your store offers a way to talk to a representative - scroll to the bottom and click to contact Sales or choose another option.

Interestingly, none of the workstations on the page I found in your store list Windows 11 as the Operating System.
There is certainly nothing wrong with Windows 10 Pro - I have it on my old Zbook.  At some point, though, Windows 11 is likely to "over take" the older OS as the "place to be" - this is normal; the new eventually replaces the old.  Just for this reason, I'd want to talk to Sales before purchasing anything.

When / If you contact the store,
Make a printed list of your questions
Why?  Having something in front of you helps you stay focused on what you think is important.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion.

unfortunately hp customer service and technical support here in italy is very poor, non-technical and superficial.

if you still have to buy the product (so you don't have the serial code) you can't communicate with any technician to get information about IT or hardware techniques, you can only communicate with simple salesmen who can only read the same things that anyone can read on the hp sites.

therefore, however, in England there is a online configurator, while in Italy it does not exist on the Italian hp site, absurd, so hp will sell less in Italy

You are welcome.

Sometimes we simply don't have the answer that people want.

I do get that things are not the same everywhere.

Good Luck.
