HP 290-A0030 Slim Desktop Computer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Purchased this slim desktop in June and it was fine for a couple of months.  But lately, it has a louder than normal humming sound coming from the CPU that won't go away no matter how I position it.  It's still under warranty.  But, I was wondering if there was anything I should check before proceeding with warranty coverage.  Thank you

Listen right next to the CPU. There is such a thing as "coil whine" which is a really difficult thing to fix except by replacing the CPU.
