I am looking to upgrade my HP Zbook Power G9 with Intel Core i7 12800H from 16 GB RAM (2x 8GB) to 64 GB RAM (2x 32GB). Current HP RAM P/N is M97595-001 which specs show as 8GB SODIMM 262 pin DDR5 SDRAM. Is there a specific P/N that you recommend I use for the upgrade?

Hi @Essemar
You can use any other brand of DDR5-4800 memory of your choice, HP does not make memory from authorized suppliers such as Crucial.

@ resistencia, the specs on the current RAM mention "PC5-38400", do I need to make sure the upgrade RAM is for the same?

not necessarily, you must verify that it is DDR5-4800 or higher, if you put a higher frequency the memory BUS lowers the frequency to 4800 to be compatible with the processor.

Hi, my new RAM came in today. I am replacing the original 2x 8GB PC5-4800 (Samsung part number M425R1GB4BB0-CQKOL) with 2x 32GB PC5-4800 (NEMIX part number MS38400-3). Specs appear to be the same when comparing them.
After swapping out, my HP ZBook Power G9 laptop just beeps, there is no display, and the fan runs on what sounds like high speed. I removed each new DIMM and reseated but it does the same. I then replaced the new DIMM with the two original - powered up fine. Is there anything I need to do like access the BIOS and change settings on power up?
I have attached photos of both chip sets. Thanks in advance for any help with this. (I have a call in to NEMIX for help, but they have not returned my call yet)

SOLVED MYSELF!!
After initial installation of new RAM sticks (2x 32GB), computer would beep as noted above. Additionally, there was no display; the num lock and cap lock lights would blink; speaker and mute lights stayed on solid. [[worth noting?? - when booting I did have the multiple monitor display plugged in]]
Opened up again and reseated new RAM - did the same thing. [[this time, and for all reboots mentioned after, I did not have multiple monitor display plugged in]]
Swapped out new RAM with old RAM (2x 8GB), everything booted up fine.
Swapped out old RAM for new RAM once again. [[this time, I removed both old RAM sticks and had empty slots. Then I inserted both new RAM sticks VERY FIRMLY into the connection pins AND into the retaining clips]]
On boot up, the speaker and mute both were lit solid again; there was NO beeping; and there still was no display. After about five minutes like this, I decided to press the ESC key. Then (or coincidentally) a display screen popped up of "POST Error. 2E1-Memory Size Error" (read the full message in attached pic). I then press the ENTER key as prompted and all booted up!!!
Hope this helps others .

Hi @Essemar
Thank you for this information
Probably had activated in the BIOS to indicate when there is a memory change.
