Hi @SMudi,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand how frustrating it can be when your laptop doesn't use the Nvidia graphics card by default, especially when you want the best performance for gaming or intensive tasks. Let’s work together to sort this out.
- Are you experiencing this issue with specific applications or is it affecting all tasks on your laptop?
- Have you recently updated your graphics drivers or the operating system?
- Is the Nvidia graphics card visible in the Device Manager and Nvidia Control Panel?
Let's try these steps.
Set Nvidia as Default Graphics Processor:
- Open the Nvidia Control Panel by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting it.
- Navigate to Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings tab.
- Under Preferred Graphics Processor, select High-performance Nvidia processor, then click Apply.
Configure Graphics Settings for Specific Applications:
- Go to Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings (at the bottom).
- Add the application you're using, select it, click Options, and choose High Performance, which uses the Nvidia GPU.
Check Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager and expand Display Adapters to see if the Nvidia GPU is listed.
- If it’s not or shows a yellow exclamation mark, reinstall the driver using the next step.
Update or Reinstall Nvidia Drivers:
- Visit the Nvidia Driver Download page and enter your GPU model (GTX 1650) and system details.
- Download the latest drivers and choose Custom Installation during setup, selecting Perform a Clean Installation.
Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support website for your Victus model and check for BIOS and chipset driver updates.
- Install the updates, restart the laptop, and try setting the Nvidia GPU as default again.
Let me know if these steps help resolve the issue!
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
