HP Notebook 14s-dq1018ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought model HP 14s-dq1018ur with core i3 https://support.hp.com/kz-ru/document/c06488527, but in fact, I have core i5 in it. Is there any explanation to this phenomenon? )   Might it be the manufacturer's mistake?

You're very welcome.

I'm very surprised that the parts list did not provide the motherboard/processor part number.

I agree that it is not on the list.

Every other major component is there other than that.

I guess it is something that we will never be able to find out for sure.

Unfortunately, even the service manual doesn't help because it is for the older model series with the Intel 8th gen core processors, so we can't figure out what motherboards were offered in the 14s-dq1xxx model series.

What you do know is your notebook is genuine since it shows up in the HP partsurfer website, and you got a better processor than you expected.

Hi:

I guess that it is your lucky day.

But perhaps the HP specifications link is incorrect.

If you enter your notebook's serial number in the box at the link below, it should provide the part number of the motherboard with the processor that your notebook should have come with.

HP PartSurfer

If the parts list also indicates the motherboard should have come with an i3 processor, then someone at the assembly plant goofed up and you benefitted from their error.

Thank you so much for your recommendation, I've followed the link and entered my serial number 5cd9464c1L, but it seems there is no info on processor there. Or I am not able to read those abbreviations and numbers ).
