It can be one of the following parts

  • 90 W PFC ADPTR S-3P 4.5MM (select 15" products only) p/n 710413-001
  • 65 W AC adapter nPFC S-3P 4.5MM  p/n 710412-001
  • 65 W AC adapter nPFC SMART 4.5mm EM  p/n 714657-001
  • 45 W AC adapter NPFC SMART RC 4.5mm NSLIM  p/n 741727-001
  • 45 W AC adapter NPFC SMART RC 4.5mm 2P p/n  742436-001

Now, please turn the charger up-side-down, you should see its part number. It is safe to use 90W or 65W to be sure you've got a right one.

Regards.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Chapter 3 page 31 has the list of power supplies that were supported in the model series.

HP ProBook 640 G2 Notebook PCHP ProBook 645 G2 Notebook PCHP ProBook 650 G2 Notebook PCHP ProBook 65...

If you go into your notebook's system information window in the BIOS and post the product number of your 650 G2, I should be able to tell you which power supply on the list originally came with your notebook.

Or you can use this guide to find that information...

@Alex642,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Since everybody appears to be chipping in, I'll give this a shot as well.

Your HP ProBook 650 G2 Notebook PC according to: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04919621.pdf and: HP PartSurfer, requires this battery, HP (p/n): 801554-001 ("Battery (Primary) - 3-cell lithium-ion (Li-Ion), 4.21Ah, 48Wh (CI03048XL-PR)"), which can be readily purchased online, such as this quality replacement battery: https://www.amazon.com/CI03-Battery-ProBook-HSTNN-UB6Q-801554-001/dp/B06WLL6VX8/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2F6V...

Thanks. What will happen if I use a 45w 19.5v 2.31a charger for a while?

Сan a laptop break or will it work incorrectly with a 45 watt charger?

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, the parts list does not provide a specific model power supply like I was hoping it would.

Instead, the list provides every possible option that could have come with a Probook 650 G2 with that product number.

Since a 45W charger was offered in the model series, it should be OK to use one of those.

The only reason you would use the 65W charger would be if your notebook has the AMD/Intel switchable graphics configuration or one of the 45W processors such as the Intel Core i7-6820HQ, or the Intel Core i5-6440HQ.

The other processors are only 25W.

If your notebook just has the onboard Intel graphics adapter, and one of the 25W processors (a model processor that ends in a 'U' such as the i5-6200U), the 45W adapter will be fine.
