hi guys, i have hp's latest convertible pavillion laptop. it has 4GB's of ram, but, on the control panel, it says: RAM:4.00 GB- 1.86 GB useable. Could anyone explain this, or tell me how to fix it? Thanks.

I read your post about your Pavilion x360-11-k102tu not recognizing the full amount of memory as usable and wanted to try and assist you.

 

The system is recognizing the full 4GB of memory installed but you may still want to run a test for hardware failures first.

 

Microsoft has some detailed information here explaining usable memory and gives some troubleshooting steps. The document is listed as Windows 7 but the same settings should be listed on Windows 10 as well.

 

Please let me know how this goes.

Thanks! I found the issue was something with me adding 'soft ram', but its all good know...

And i know its late but oh well lol
