Hi @ScuziCZ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble connecting your phone via USB to your HP Victus laptop, there are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Ensure that both your phone and laptop are powered on and not in sleep mode.
- Check that you're using a USB cable that supports data transfer, as some cables are designed only for charging. Try using a different USB cable if possible.
- Make sure the USB port on your laptop is functioning correctly. You can try connecting other USB devices to see if they are recognized.
- On your HP Victus laptop, go to the Device Manager by pressing the Windows key + X and selecting "Device Manager" from the menu.
- Expand the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section and look for any devices with a yellow exclamation mark or question mark. This indicates a driver issue. Right-click on the problematic device and select "Update driver" to search for the latest driver updates.
- Restart your laptop and phone to refresh their connection.
- If you're using an Android phone, try changing the USB connection mode. On your phone, swipe down from the top of the screen to access the notification panel. Look for a USB icon or notification and tap on it to change the connection mode to "File Transfer" or "MTP" (Media Transfer Protocol).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
