Hi @ScuziCZ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble connecting your phone via USB to your HP Victus laptop, there are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.

  1. Ensure that both your phone and laptop are powered on and not in sleep mode.
  2. Check that you're using a USB cable that supports data transfer, as some cables are designed only for charging. Try using a different USB cable if possible.
  3. Make sure the USB port on your laptop is functioning correctly. You can try connecting other USB devices to see if they are recognized.
  4. On your HP Victus laptop, go to the Device Manager by pressing the Windows key + X and selecting "Device Manager" from the menu.
  5. Expand the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section and look for any devices with a yellow exclamation mark or question mark. This indicates a driver issue. Right-click on the problematic device and select "Update driver" to search for the latest driver updates.
  6. Restart your laptop and phone to refresh their connection.
  7. If you're using an Android phone, try changing the USB connection mode. On your phone, swipe down from the top of the screen to access the notification panel. Look for a USB icon or notification and tap on it to change the connection mode to "File Transfer" or "MTP" (Media Transfer Protocol).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
