HP 250 G5 notebook N27E6QGR PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
My HP 250 G5 NOTEBOOK N27E6QGR PC with product ID of W4M69EA#BH5 specified in "TASK MANAGER" that I have 2 RAM slots. So I purchased another RAM stick to add to the already existing one, and I was disappointed to find just one RAM slot. WHY?

No memory slot "under the keyboard". If there were 2 they would be right where you see in the picture.

I was afraid of that. Most models with the Celeron and Pentium processors have only a single slot and I was skeptical of the information in the Manual. Obviously it is incorrect and you only have 1 memory slot for a maximum of 8 gigs. Don't shoot the messenger. The system information shows 2 memory slots because they use the same motherboard and the circuitry exists inside the motherboard to have 2 slots. They just save a little on each Celeron motherboard by not having the factory attach a second memory slot. If you look closely you can see the traces for a second slot. And no there is no way for you to add it so forget it.

@NET__RYDER

It has TWO RAM slots, other RAM slot is hidden and you have to remove the keyboard to find out, that why the document says

     Two non-customer-accessible/non-upgradable memory module slots

Regards.

According to the Service Manual:

Manual

All versions of the 250 G5 even the lower end Celeron models I believe you have come with 2 memory slots.

How does yours look different than this if you remove the back cover?

2slots.jpg

See the 2 slots to the right of the hard drive under the heatsink? What does yours look like and what processor do you have?

Post back with any more questions.

Mine looks exactly like this, but just that it's one slot not 2. Question is; how do I locate the other one under the "keyboard"?
HP Recommended
Because close to the heat sink I only see "one slot". Just tell me how to access the other. Thanks.

@Huffer I have an Intel celeron 3050 processor. But still, I can only see one RAM slot.

Well, I'm highly disappointed. Why? I ran with excitement to the market to purchase another slot then got shot in the leg to find just one slot. Anyways, you guys should kindly update the manual and "TASK MANAGER" so it won't mislead others as well.

Yes in an ideal world that would happen and we appreciate your telling us about it. Thanks and I am glad you at least got an explanation.
