Hi @Soumen44,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're unable to type anything on your HP 15 Notebook PC's keyboard, it can be due to several reasons, such as a hardware issue, driver problem, or system glitch. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.

Check for Physical Issues:

  • Ensure the Keyboard is Clean: Dust or debris might be blocking the keys. Use compressed air to blow out any dust from the keyboard.
  • Inspect for Damage: Make sure there are no visible damages to the keyboard. If any keys are physically damaged, the keyboard might need to be replaced.

Restart Your Laptop:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can fix temporary glitches. Turn off your laptop, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Access BIOS: Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 repeatedly during startup to enter the BIOS settings.
  • Check Keyboard Functionality: If the keyboard works in BIOS, it indicates a software issue within Windows. If it doesn’t work in BIOS, it’s likely a hardware problem.

Use an External Keyboard:

  • Connect an External USB Keyboard: This can help you access your system and perform troubleshooting steps within Windows.

Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager: Connect an external keyboard if needed, then right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
  • Update Driver: Find Keyboards, expand the section, right-click on your keyboard device, and select Update driver.
  • Reinstall Driver: If updating doesn’t work, right-click on the keyboard device again and select Uninstall device. Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.

Check for Software Issues:

  • Boot into Safe Mode: Restart your laptop and press F8 during startup to enter Safe Mode. Check if the keyboard works in Safe Mode.
  • Perform a System Restore: If the keyboard works in Safe Mode, consider performing a system restore to a point when the keyboard was functioning properly.

Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Run Keyboard Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, find and run the Keyboard troubleshooter.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Sometimes, an update can fix known issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for updates.

Reset Your PC:

  • As a last resort, you can reset your PC. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC. This will reinstall Windows, and you can choose to keep your files or remove everything.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I suggest using a USB keyboard as a workaround and then installing the Intel chipset drivers for your laptop.

Here is a link for the HP driver and software download web document for your laptop.
