HP ENVY x360 - 15m-cp0011dx

I keep looking for a battery for this laptop.   Everywhere I go using the model number, they have a battery that is 11 volts.   Both the name plate on the laptop and the charger say it is 19.5 volts.  I already purchased a "HP" replacement battery LX03XL.    But it turned out to be an 11.55 volt battery.   Not surprisingly, it does not charge or operate the laptop.  Does anyone know where I can get the correct battery?

The HP Part number is L09281-855

That is the battery that the manual has listed as the replacement part.

Can you provide an image of the identification information on the battery?

I do not have the original battery because I disposed of it properly.   First mistake.    Every google search I have done all shows 11.55 volt batteries.    The laptop itself indicates "Input:19.5V DC at 3.33 A"  The charger also has the same voltage and amperage on it.     The battery I have is a new battery I purchased with the HP logo and the battery # is LK03XL   It appeared to be identical to the original.   It is 11.55 volts.   It does not charge.   Even though I bought it where HP said to get it, and it has HP logo, when the laptop boots (only on power supply) it gives the non Hp battery message.

The power adapter is 19.5 vdc. That voltage goes into  a pair of converter chips.

The main battery is 11.55vdc

Voltage regulation circuitry inside the laptop drops that the 19.5 and 11.5 volts down to the actual bus requirements of 12v, +-5v, +-3.3.

Bear in mind that for electric and electronic voltage requirements for every device you have ever used or owned, voltage requirements are +- 10%, so for all intents and purposes 11.55vdc is 12vdc.

Does the battery charge when the laptop is off?

The battery does not charge.   I guess it is possible the new battery is defective.  I hate to buy a new battery only to have it not work.     When the laptop runs on the power supply the units shuts down intermittently.

When the power adapter is plugged in, what is the color of the LED?

Does the LED stay on with a solid color?

The LED stays solid amber.     Battery level shows 0 and not charging, even when the adapter is plugged in.

That means it is likely that the battery is faulty.

I installed a new battery and it shows a battery level and that it is charging unlike the other brand new battery.  I don't suppose there is a way to eliminate the non HP battery message every time it boots?   😄         Thanks for your help!!!
