I could buy an old compaq laptop to collect, but I don't know how to understand if it can be stolen

 

it also seems to have a win10 operating system, I don't think it's original.
How to know which one is original?

Hi:

 

Unfortunately, there is no way to tell if the notebook was stolen,

 

Call your local police department, and give them the model number and serial number of the notebook and ask if such a notebook was reported stolen.

 

Many folks over the years upgraded notebooks from older operating systems to Windows 10.

 

According to the HP specifications for the 6730b, the notebook originally could have come configured from HP with:

 

Genuine Windows Vista® Business
Genuine Windows Vista Home Basic
Genuine Windows Vista® Business with Genuine Windows® XP Professional custom preinstalled
FreeDOS
