The maximum memory you can install is 2 x 8 GB of DDR3L-1600 MHz.
I recommend either of these kits:
$16.00
$32.00
Crucial RAM 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz CL11 Laptop Memory CT2KIT102464BF160B at Amazon.com

Hi
I would just like to be sure. The laptop does not have a model number all it states is that is an HP Pavillion 17 notebook I have the following additional information I just want to make sure that the memory will work so here is the information:

Hi:
Below is the link to the parts list for your notebook's product number:
It matches all of the information that I have provided in my first reply to you and that is all the information I can provide regarding the memory I recommended as well as the links to purchase it.
If you upgraded your notebook from W8.1 to W10 and you are now running W10 22H2, that is the final release before W11 goes out of support in October of this year.
If you are still running on W8.1, you will find a source to purchase a W10 license and product key, and I would not be able to help you with that.
Your notebook does not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements.
If you are currently running on W10, and If you are happy with your PC, and if you are interested in installing W11 24H2 on your PC as is, watch this video, which is the easiest way to do it in my opinion, and I have tried many different ways to do this during the last 3 years.
Skip the part where he tells you how to get the 24H2 insider preview ISO file.
Use the latest one from the Microsoft website link that I posted below the video link.
How to install Windows 11 24H2 on Unsupported PC (Early Access) 2024 (youtube.com)
Download the W24H2 ISO file and use that (3rd option).
Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)
You can download the free 7-Zip file utility from the link below. The top line is for 64 bit.
7-Zip
You'll have to repeat this procedure each October when Microsoft rolls out the new builds because a PC that does not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements will never automatically get the update to the next build.
Other than that, your PC will continue to get the monthly cumulative and other updates.
That's only a minor inconvenience to have continued OS support beyond October of 2025.
