my current internal Harddrive is maxed out 500GB looking for a 2TB that has a decent running speed, found this on Amazon(Samsung Seagate tab Laptop HDD SATA III 2.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive dimm (ST2000LM003)) also have 4GB of RAM installed wondering what the best route would be to upgrade that as well? Thinking 8-16 GB

I understand that your 500GB HDD is full and you would like to install a larger drive and more ram. Here is a link to the HP Pavilion dm4 Entertainment PC Maintenance and Service Guide. Please note chapter 3, page 24, item 15 memory modules and item 18 hard drives for the recommended replacements for your system. Please be aware that the maximum memory is 8 GB.( found in chapter 1, page 2, memory). As a 2 TB drive has not been tested in this model the outcome is unknown. This does not mean it will not work, only that it is not a recommended drive and not supported by HP.

thanks for the info on the Ram, but in regards to the Hard Drive i'll stick with a 1TB. The manual doesn't list anything above 750GB and the item numbers dont match up with anything im looking at. But i talkied to someone on AMazon and asked about a 1TB the guy said this model (
Seagate 1TB Gaming SSHD SATA 8GB NAND SATA 6Gb/s 2.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive (ST1000LM014)) will work just fine.07-11-2016 07:55 AM
Hi @LoganHickman,
Thank you for the update.
As I said other hard drives may work, but as HP has not tested them, they are not the recommended replacements. Good Luck with the 1TB drive.
