Found it using the other number you gave and it is an AMD processor model. Turion II M520.

correct manual

You could use any of thse motherboards but yours is the UMA kind and if you got a discrete board you might need a different heatsink:

System board
(includes replacement thermal material)
For use in computers equipped with UMA graphics subsystem memory
571186-001
For use in computers equipped with discrete
graphics with 1 GB of dedicated memory
571187-001
For use in computers equipped with discrete
graphics with 512 MB of dedicated memory
571188-001

I am unable to locate the specifications of your model laptop. The dv6-2000 series has always had a confusing array of manuals. One covers only the Quad Core Intel models and another covers a wider range. Can you please tell us the basic specs of your laptop? The processor being the most important one. If your laptop has a first gen i7 Quad Core this may be the Manual you need:

Manual

System board (includes replacement thermal material)
With discrete graphics subsystem and 1-GB of dedicated memory
574902-001

There are many many of these for sale on eBay.

Thanks Huffer for your response.

I hope I can answer your questions. All supporting documentation has been lost. The laptop appears to boot, the laptop lights up. On occasions the screen has lit up and I have watched the laptop boot into windows 7. Most occasions the screen is black. I have replaced the inverter board.

The information on the back of the laptop is as follows:

Pavilion dv6

Product number: W N498EA#ABF

Warranty: 1 year

Model: dv6-2124sf

It is an “Entertainment PC”. There is an “AMD VISION PERIUM” sticker on key board face plate.

I am happy to open the laptop too, if that will provide you with the information you require.

I am willing to shop on eBay. Just want to make sure I purchase the correct board for the chassis and processors.
