Hello!
A few months ago i bought an "OMEN by HP – 17-an021no" laptop and i am getting really high temperatures while playing games. When i am on the internet or writing documents etc the cpu and gpu temp stays at around 50-57 degrees celsius but playing games my gpu is around 60-70 degrees (sometimes a little higher than 70) and my cpu temp is around 80-85 degrees.
Are these temps safe to have while playing for a few hours? and what can i do if it's not? and can these temperatures cause performance issues?
My specs are:
Processor
- 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA
- 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
Would really appriciate if someone could help me!
Thanks 🙂

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
I have gone through your Post and I understand your concerns
70 degrees while playing high end games is quiet normal and just regular browsing with average 55 degrees is well within the acceptable temperature range
Do you feel that the HP Omen is overheating? If you feel it's overheating, please update the BIOS from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
If the computer starts overheating alot then it will cause performance issues
Keep me posted if you need further assistance
Thank you and have a great day 😊

80 to 85 degrees while playing high end games is still OK as long as it's not causing any performance issue.
But try downloading the BIOS and check if that helps with the temperature
Thank you
