Your notebook does not have a M.2 slot to support a SSD.

Your only option would be to replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD.

I recommend one of the Western Digital SA510 2.5" SATA SSD's as an upgrade.

Below is the link to the service manual:

c06719946.pdf (hp.com)

Now the manual indicates that M.2 NVMe and M.2 SATA SSDs are supported but what the manual does not mention is that with the notebooks that come with AMD 'A' series processors such as yours, the M.2 slot is not present unless the notebook came with a M.2 SATA SSD from the factory.

The notebooks with the AMD 'A' series processors that did come with M.2 slots, only support SATA SSD's not NVMe (also not mentioned in the manual).

Here is an eBay listing of the motherboard your notebook comes with, and as you can see, the only M.2 slot present is the one for the M.2 Wi-Fi adapter:

HP 15-db Series 15.6" OEM Laptop AMD A9-9425 3.1GHz Motherboard LA-G078P AS IS | eBay

This is the same motherboard for a PC that came with a M.2 SSD from the factory:

LA-G078P For Hp 15-DB Motherboard With A9-9425 AM9425 CPU EPV51 L20477-601 | eBay

Notice the M.2 SATA SSD slot in the lower right corner of the picture.

The first link above this one that only came with a 2.5" drive does not have the M.2 slot in the lower right corner of the picture.
