I have an HP Notebook 15-da0xxx and the battery is dying

The battery in my HP 15-da0xxx is practically dead. It does not last for any longer than an hour, and that is only if it is not being used. It will die at random if not constantly being charged. The battery product ID is HT03041 but I have not been able to find it listed on HP's website. I have also had no luck with technical support, so I am wondering how I can replace the battery? What are my options, and how do I move forward from here?

HP will no longer carry the battery so you have to go to the aftermarket which generally means amazon or eBay. 

This is the battery you need:

(18) Battery (3-cell, 48 WHr) L11119-855

This is the Service Manual and instructions for how to replace the battery are found on p. 41-42. This is very doable by the end user and you will save yourself loads of cash by doing it yourself.

Amazon tends to sell 3rd party compatible batteries which make some people nervous. I use them all the time and in my experience as long as you buy from a high rated seller you will be OK. 

You can find original HP logoed batteries on eBay.

The above are both very good purchase options but I might spend the extra 10 bucks for the genuine battery on eBay as its from a very well-rated seller.

I don't know what is your HP 15-da0xxx but it should use battery part # L11119-855. It ch is N/A from HP

You can use part # and search online including eBay. I saw it on Newegg for around $40. HP won't allow me to post the link, please search yourself.
