I have an HP ProBook X360 11 G3 EE Laptop. The  SD drive has stopped working. I have run every hardware and software test and diagnostic I could find to no effect. Can the drive be replaced. If so, what is the HP part number or compatible third-party component?

It depends on if your notebook has the 64 GB eMMC drive or a 128 GB or 256 GB M.2 SSD.

Notebooks that have the 64 GB eMMC drive would need to have the system board replaced because the 64 GB drive is an integral part of the motherboard.

Notebooks that have the 64 GB eMMC drives, do not have support for any other type of drive.

Notebooks that came with the M.2 SATA SSD's can have the drive replaced with one like this:

Thanks for the tip. However, I need to replace the SD card slot rather than the SSD. My unit has a 128 GB SSD. I believe I need to replace the SD reader. Can anyone help?

You're very welcome.

I do not see a SD card reader board part number or description listed in chapter 3 of the service manual, nor is there a procedure in chapter 5 to remove or replace such a device.

The SD card reader must be an integral part of the motherboard and most likely cannot be repaired without the system board being replaced.
