HP Laptop 17 - bs0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

One of the hinges on my HP Laptop 17-bs-0xx broke. I've removed the bottom per the Users' Manual and have included photos. Can someone tell me if this is any easy fix or not or how to fix it? Also, silly question, is this the left or right hinge? It is on the right as I face the laptop and fold up the screen.

Thanks for any help. Hi. I advice you to send it to an authorized technical service but if you have knowledge on laptops, you can try fixing it by yourself.

According to the pictures you posted, both the lcd and motherboard side is broken. You have to unscrew the screen and the whole motherboard. Use some strong glue such as epoxy, to glue the plastic screwholes back in their places. I also see a bent metal lcd bracket too. You need to bent it back to its original position. This video may help thorugh the process. Keep all scerws organized so closing the laptop can be easily done. Position the hinges by  matching the broken screwholes correctly and glue "ONE SIDE AT A TIME" . After gluing it set it to somewhere where screen couldnt "MOVE" at all and let it drive overnight. Then repeat the same proccess for the other side of the hinge. If have any other questions please dont hesitate to reply...

Good luck :))

I have a Acer E1-571G laptop. Due to some mishandling, the laptop hinge broke. I fixed this using simple tools and an epoxy hardner resin, just within 10 minutes! Tools used affiliate links: G-clamp : https://amzn.to/3rCOwV7 Araldite : https://amzn.to/3rEE13J Screwdriver : https://amzn.to/2X9eK3P
