@QHAWE1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Touchpad Issues on HP ENVY x360 Convertible PCs!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your touchpad on the HP ENVY x360 Convertible is not working, here are several troubleshooting steps you can take:

Ensure the Touchpad is Enabled:

  • Sometimes, the touchpad can be accidentally disabled. To check this, press the touchpad toggle key on your keyboard (often it's the F5 or F6 key, sometimes along with the Fn key).

Update or Reinstall Touchpad Drivers:

  • Ensure your touchpad drivers are up-to-date or reinstall them.
  • Open Device Manager:
    • In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
  • Expand the Mice and other pointing devices section.
  • Right-click the touchpad driver and select Update driver.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver.
  • If updating does not work, right-click the touchpad driver and select Uninstall device. Restart your laptop and let Windows reinstall the driver automatically.

Check Touchpad Settings:

  • Open Settings:
  • Click Devices.
  • Select Touchpad from the left menu.
  • Ensure that the touchpad is enabled. Adjust touchpad sensitivity and settings as needed.

Run Hardware Diagnostics:

  • You can use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool to check for any hardware issues.
  • In Windows, search for and open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows.
  • Run a touchpad test to identify any hardware faults.

Perform a System Restore:

  • If the touchpad was working previously, performing a system restore to a point when it was functioning can help:
  • In Windows, search for Create a restore point and open it.
  • Click the System Restore button.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions and choose a restore point when your touchpad was working.

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Sometimes BIOS settings can affect hardware functionality. To check BIOS:
  • Restart your laptop and press F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Navigate to the System Configuration tab.
  • Ensure the touchpad settings are enabled.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
