hp hq-tre 71025
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I started working for a company that uses hp hq-tre 71025 as their main working computers. Since at home I use much faster systems that use SSDs I would like to also upgrade my work laptop also.

Local office IT does not support the purchase of any hardware unless there is a failure, but I was able to get approval to relocate the OS to a new drive if I purchase it myself. After looking into this question and even discussing with our IT service it seems that there is no clear answer they can give me on which drive will fit.

I want to keep the 1TB HDD and add M.2 drive to it as a main boot and software drive.

Please help identify which "key" should I buy.

Amazon link would also be fine since we have a direct contract.

Thank you for your support.

Hi:

hp-tre 71025 is not the model number of the notebook you have.

Please post the full model number or product number of the notebook you have.

Use this guide to find that information...

Hi,

Here is the info from the bottom of the laptop:

- RMN: HSTNNQ03C

- Contains Intel Radio Model: 7265NGW

- HP Probook 450 G4

- ProdID: Y7Z99EA#ACB

- S/N # 5CD70635N1

Hope this helps.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for the ProBook 450 G4.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05270979

Chapter 3, page 24, item two lists the M.2 SSD's offered by HP for that model.

I entered the part number from the first one into the HP Parts surfer website, and it shows the drive has the SATA III interface.

http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=907722-001

So you should buy a compatible M.2 SSD that is SATA III, not NVMe.

The crucial report below has a list of compatible M.2 SSDs for your notebook.

You can buy from them, or check the specs on one and get whatever brand you are interested in.

Under the SSD listing, click on the View More link and it will show you the M.2 drives.
