Greetings @wildh,

Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are looking to change the wireless card on your notebook, is that right?

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Have you checked the service guides of both the computers?

Please click here for the service guide of HP I7-x173dx notebook.

This notebook uses the below mentioned wireless cards. (page number 46)

Realtek RTL8723BE-VB 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter  855106-855

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo  806723-005

Realtek RTL8188EE-VJ 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi Adapter  857334-855

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + BT 4.2 Combo 863934-855

Please click here for the service guide of HP15-au057cl

This notebook uses the below wireless cards. (Page number 38)

WLAN module, 11AC INT 3165 M.2 MOW  806723-005

Assembly, RT 11BGN+BT4 1x1 SANJI2 CB  855106-855

The wireless cards of HP 15 should work with HP 17.

I am not sure on the Antenne though. You might be able to use the same antenna that is present in the computer.

Let me know if this helped.
