HP Pavilion - 15-cs3065cl
Microsoft Windows 11

I installed a new HT03XL battery in my HP Pavilion - 15-cs3065cl laptop. However, both HP Support Assistant and HP Diagnostic UEFI are still showing a message that the battery needs to be replaced.

Additionally, I noticed that the laptop runs slowly and freezes when not plugged into the charger, but works fine when connected to power.

What could be the reason for this issue?

"HT03XL" is the generic name for a laptop battery.

Your laptop needs a genuine HP laptop battery. If the battery has the HP logo on it and matches the HP part number, it should work without issue.

Currently your laptop is having problems communicating with the generic battery on the smBus. That is why you are seeing the error messages.
