@MihretT, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing loud fan noise, let’s work together to resolve this.

Update BIOS and Drivers

Outdated BIOS or system drivers can cause the fan to run excessively.

  • Visit the official HP support page: Official HP® Support
  • Enter your product name (e.g., HP Pavilion x360) and download the latest BIOS and chipset drivers.
  • Install and restart your laptop.

Adjust Power Settings

High-performance settings can cause the fan to run constantly.

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options
  • Select Balanced or HP Recommended
  • Click Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings
  • Under Processor power management, set:
    • Maximum processor state to 80-90%
    • System cooling policy to Passive

Clean Vents and Ensure Proper Ventilation

Even new devices can accumulate dust or be blocked.

  • Make sure the laptop is on a hard, flat surface.
  • Avoid using it on soft surfaces like beds or couches.
  • Use compressed air to gently clean the vents.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

This helps check for any hardware issues.

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the System Tests > Fan Test.

Check for Background Processes

Too many apps running can increase CPU usage and fan activity.

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
  • Check the Processes tab for high CPU usage
  • End unnecessary tasks

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
