Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm trying to upgrade the ram in my old hp pavilion slimline s5-1114 and I don't know how much ram it can handle, I looked it up and it says that the max memory is 8gb, does that mean one 8 gb stick in each slot because the pc has 2 of them. And 8 gb seems kind of low I kind of wanted to put 16 gb of ram in, but I'm not sure how much the system can handle its never been upgraded since we bought it. It has the g620 intel Pentium processor in it so I'm just not sure.
