Compaq Presario CQ61
Microsoft Windows Vista

I have restored my Compaq Presario CQ61 to factory settings and lost Windows 7 in the process. When I bought the computer it had Windows Vista installed, but came with a free upgrade to Windows 7 which I had to send overseas for.  However, when I went to reinstall Windows 7, I discovered that I do have a repair disc that I made, but I seem to have lost the installation disc (I think my husband may have used it to scare birds from a fruit tree!)  I have the original packaging though with the product key. I contacted Microsoft to see if I could get a replacement Windows 7 disc, but they told me that due to the fact that the computer distributor issued me with the disc, I have to go back to HP for a replacement disc or download.  Can you please tell me how I can either get a download or another disc without having to pay for a new one, or can I download Windows 10 onto this computer instead as I do have a product key for Windows 10.  Thank you.

You can download an ISO here and burn it to dvd. Then run setup from it.

Thank you so much, SherylG for your prompt reply to my question.  You have solved my problem and I now have Windows 7 successfully running on my old computer.  I must say that for me it wasn't a particularly easy process though.  I tried both ways - burning to a CD and downloading to a USB.  Both attempts intially failed, but I tried with the USB again and this eventually worked.  Thank you again - your help is very much appreciated.
