Hi,
I wonder if someone could advise me. My laptop only works if it is plugged in. I think I need a new battery for my HP Notebook 15s-fq0008na. I can't find any information on the HP site under Accessories, nor any matching computer models under batteries on Amazon. Would anyone know what I model battery need to buy, and where?
I am grateful for anyone's time if they could help me.
Best regards
Judith

I have been unable to locate the battery part number in HP PartSurfer or the HP Parts Online store.
I am also unable to locate the Maintenance & Service Guide.
It appears that in order to fid the battery part number you may have to open the notebook and get the part number from the battery label.

Hi, @Judith1228
From the info I could find, your notebook uses this battery part number and description:
L11119-855 | Assembly-battery 3C 41W 3.6A LI HT030 |
You can order the battery directly from HP at the link below.
HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - Compaq Parts
What I can't find is the service manual...
However, this You Tube video may help you open the notebook to replace the battery:

Thank you, Paul, for your quick reply.
HP's price is extortionate and went to Amazon, but for this model of battery, they don't list my laptop as a compatible model. What is even more surprising is at the back of the computer the model number is HP - 15s-fq0008na, but when I go into my System, it states it is HP - 15s-fq0xxx. I have no idea what to do, as I can't spend close to £100 for something that might not fit. The video was useful as well, thanks although it seems easier than it probably is.
Best regards
Judith

You're very wecome, Judith.
I did some detective work in the absence of any documentation.
I entered the base model 15s-fq0000 in the HP parts surfer website at the link below and it returned a list of various models:
If you click on the links to any of those product numbers, you will find they all use the same battery part number I posted for you.
There is one thing you can try in order to confirm that the part number I posted is correct and that is to enter your notebook's serial number in the parts list search window and see if it provides any details regarding the parts used in your notebook.
If I were a betting man, I would bet that your notebook uses the same battery as the others.
If you don't want to buy the genuine battery from HP, do a search by the HP battery part number and find a compatible aftermarket battery that references that part number.
