HP Pavillion 15
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)
I need a new hard drive for my laptop. It will not reboot and I have gone through the necessary steps to change the settings in the Bio settings. The current errors are that the test has failed for the hard drive so, according to the forums a new hard drive is required. I will be happy to install it myself through installation videos however, please can you tell me what hard drive I need?

Laptop serial number is 5CD3523N76

Model is 15-1729959

Product is F9E46EA#ABU

Hi

Thank you so much for such a fast response to my message, I do appreciate the support. I am an engineer however, I am a mechanical engineer so this is all new to me. Hopefully this should do the job and it’s much cheaper than I anticipated. Once I have acquired the hard drive I will be sure to update on this link.

Supports 6.35-cm (2.5-in) hard drives in 9.5-mm (.37-in) and 7.0-mm (.28-in) thicknesses (all hard drives use the same bracket)

This covers about any 2.5 inch laptop drive on the market. Just be sure it is SATA interface (almost all are) and no more than 9.5 mm thick.

If you are sticking with a spinner hard drive this is a good one:

You can also install a 2.5 inch SATA SSD for a huge performance upgrade. Post back if you want to discuss that.

This is a real good "technique" video:

Not exactly the same as your model but identical in configuration.

Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if its the info you needed.

OK and just saying on a Forum you generally do not give yourself the solution, but the person who provided the info. But glad you are happy.
