I need a replacement battery

I just need a new battery. This laptop  boasted up to 6-8 hours and i might get 3 with bare use.

If you are getting 3 hours' runtime out of the battery it is doubtful that a replacement will give you any more. Depends on how you are using it. But it is not uncommon to have about 3 hours' use on a gaming laptop from the battery. We are not HP so we are happy to rationally discuss marketing promises vs. real world performance but this is an issue that comes up all the time.

You made an excellent point.  However, I think the OP has these battery qualifications in mind:

On average, a laptop battery lasts about 1,000 charge cycles or between 2 to 4 years of typical use. That's when you should expect to replace your laptop battery.

I'm sure the user is referring to that. Not going to comment on those representations but if you have followed this Forum for a while you know we get lots of complaints that battery life in actual use falls short.
