Hi,

Yes, you can install an M2 PCIe NVMe SSD from your preferred brand and capacity (no limit to capacity). So, yes the Samsung 980 will work.

Example

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-15-da1883ne

On page 47 of service manual you can see the steps to install the SSD

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06691790.pdf

You can create a bootable USB drive to install the OS on the SSD

Download Windows 10

It will give a great boost to the performance of the notebook.

Hope it helps,

David

Hello.  Not an expert but.... this is the manual

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06691790.pdf

And it says on page 3.... if the CPU is Intel then you can have ssd m2 nvme 256 or 512 (**but only 256 if you also have a normal hard drive).

Thank you for your answer, but I don't know yet whether it supports the new face of plce 4 as in the Samsung Hard 980 Pro, and you can also nominate me the best and fastest hard for my laptop.

You're welcome,

The 980 Pro (gen4) will work. It will work with gen3 PCIe but still, be super fast. It is not only the max speeds that are important but access times and so forth.

You could also use the Samsung 970 Evo Plus or or any other of the fast PCIe devices and will probably not notice any difference in everyday usage.

Personally, I would use the 970 Evo Plus or the 980 (not the Pro)

Take care,

David

Thank you for your response and answer. I was convinced of your words, but it is the best among 970 Evo plus or 980 Without the pro.

They are considered the best. I believe the 980 is a little faster (you will not even really notice (about 2%)). So I would choose the one you can get the best price for.

David

Okay, Look I see the right price between them but I need to know Why don't you want 980 Pro؟

HP Recommended

Are there any types other than Samsung that are better and Samsung is the best in this field?

HP Recommended

Samsung is considered the best. I do not feel the extra price for the Pro is worth it. The 980 pro is gen 4 and will only run at its full potential in a machine with gen 4 PCIe.
