Product: HP Laptop 14-bw0xx
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I need to have more internal storage in order to update Windows 10 on my laptop (product number 1KU90UA#ABA). How do I update storage/my internal drive so I can finally get the update that has been required yet impossible to complete for over a year?

I performed the Compact OS command and rebooted, and it appears to have had no effect on my drive's storage.

HP likely already compacted it. Try the disk cleanup with advanced options to remove system files and also try limitigng the size of the pagefile. If all else fails it is going to be necessary to do a wipe and reload of Windows.
