Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey everyone!

I am a small streamer on Twitch. I added a capture card to my setup so that I can have a camera and an overlay for the stream but when going live, I lose 99% and even 100% of my frames. I'm assuming it is because my CPU is not capable of handling it and needs to be upgraded. My question is, what do I need to look for in a new CPU so that I can resolve this issue of losing all of my frames?

The specs of your machine is

   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06054759

Information doesn't help much BUT after digging few places, I can see it has Pentium Silver N5000 processor and  8 GB of RAM. Now, no way you can upgrade your machine without costing you an arm and a leg because

(a) CPU: it is soldered to the system board. Upgrading CPU now, you need to buy new system board  which contains

  1. Motherboard,
  2. CPU with integrated video,
  3. Video card (if applicable),
  4. Operating system.

All above 3 or 4 components are on one piece of hardware called System board. That means you can upgrade to other CPU (if available) but very expensive.

(b) RAM: It has One slot of RAM because machine ONLY has One memory module slot (Intel Pentium and Celeron processors) which support 8GB max.

Since you are doing intensive graphics application, your current machine is not suitable. As mentioned above, upgrading CPU (with available system board) may  cost you more than the price you paid for it at the beginning

Regards.
