I am a content creator and I just installed a new video editing software, Davinci resolve 16 and it keeps crashing on me. So I transferred the program to my 2TB external to free up space and it is still crashing! So I checked out forums and it turns out you need at least 16 GB of ram to operate this program and my Laptop has 8GB. How do I find the right ram product to install into my laptop? also, I have been seeing a lot of information on SSD drives as an alternative to buying ram, would buying a 16GB Ram SSD Drive be better? Please, I need some guidance.

Hi:
The problem you have is that for graphics intensive activity like video editing or playing video games, you need a notebook with a discrete video adapter.
The onboard Intel HD graphics adapter your notebook has is simply inadequate for what you are using the notebook for.
Upgrading the memory and installing a SSD will help a little, but maybe not enough to meet your needs.
So, if you don't want to sell or trade in your notebook for one with better graphics, here is the crucial memory report for your specific model notebook which gives the amount of memory you can install, compatible memory and SSD's.

You're very welcome.
The graphics adapter is an integral part of the motherboard, not a removable card.
You can't upgrade the graphics adapter without replacing the motherboard with one listed in your notebook's service manual that may come with better graphics.
Since your notebook is relatively new, the motherboard part alone would cost more than you paid for the notebook.
Here is the link to the service manual where you can find the supported motherboards with their HP part numbers.
