HP ENVY 360 15-bp152nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I own an HP ENVY 360 15-bp152nr.

I want to upgrade the SSD.  It currently has a SanDisk SD8SN8U-128G-1006 installed.

The SanDisk SD8SN8U-128G-1006 128GB X400 M.2 2280 SATA 3 6.0 Gb/s SSD isn’t a PCIe or NVMe drive.

The spec sheet for the computer says it can accept any of the following.

  • 512-GB, 2280 M.2, PCIe-3×4, SS, NVMe solid-state drive with TLC
  • 360-GB, 2280 M.2, PCIe-3×4, SS, NVMe solid-state drive with TLC
  • 256-GB, 2280 M.2, PCIe-3×4, SS, NVMe solid-state drive with TLC
  • 256-GB, 2280 M.2 SATA-3 solid-state drive with TLC
  • 128-GB, 2280 M.2 SATA-3 solid-state drive

The form factors for keying are different between SATA-3 and PCIe.

Can someone explain if I am reading this wrong or can my computer accept both form factors?  If so, How?

The M.2 NVMe SSD will fit perfectly to the M.2 SATA slot.

Manual shows information for the whole series. Your machine may ONLY support SATA from its System board.

I installed a 512GB ADATA SX8200PNP PCIe NvMe drive.  It worked perfectly.  I used Marcrium Reflect FREE addition to mirror the drive.  It didn't boot right up.  After using the F2 diagnostics and let the troubleshooter do its magic, it booted with no issues.  Loads programs lightning fast.
